After twenty years in the corporate world, it wasn’t exhaustion or burnout — it was a wall I couldn’t name. On paper, I was flying: green dashboards, strong teams, global scope. But inside, I’d stopped moving. I came to call it, “The Leader’s Block®” — feeling stuck even when you’re “succeeding.” That became the title of my first book.

Writing that book — and the conversations it sparked — led me to a new calling. I left the corporate world to coach leaders who, like me, wanted to rediscover meaning and momentum in their work.

As I began working with leaders around the world, another pattern emerged. In mixed leadership rooms, women would approach me during breaks and say, “Ritu, this won’t work for us because…” But when I encouraged them to speak up inside the room, they’d whisper, “We’ll be judged.” It wasn’t a lack of empowerment — it was a lack of safe space.

I realised leadership conversations needed a different kind of room — one built for honesty and shared experience. So, I rewrote the rules: first for myself, and then with my clients. Rewrite the Rules became a book and a podcast — a platform for relatable role models and real leadership stories.

Today, as an executive coach, author, and global keynote speaker based in Singapore, I help leaders and organisations build sustainable performance by recognising, acknowledging, and overcoming their blocks. Through Rewrite the Rules, I run cohort-based programs that create the space, tools, and confidence for leaders to grow on their own terms — not to “fix” them, but to change outcomes.
